{"section":"known-issues","requestedLocale":"en","requestedSlug":"legacy-cmss-banner-custom-element-not-working","locale":"en","slug":"legacy-cmss-banner-custom-element-not-working","path":"docs/en/known-issues/Catalog/legacy-cmss-banner-custom-element-not-working.md","branch":"main","content":"## Summary\n\n\nCurrently, the \"custom elements\" tab of the legacy CMS configurations is not working properly.\n\nSetting up a custom element of this type will not yield effects in most cases and directly setting it up in the layout's HTML is recommended.\n\nThis only happens for legacy template stores.\n\n\n#### Simulation\n\n\n1 - go to the legacy CMS and select the custom elements tab\n2 - upload a custom element of the \"banner\" type\n3 - reference this banner in your html\n4 - the configured banner will not render properly\n\n\n#### Workaround\n\n\nset up the banners by using the type HTML layout and/or subtemplates associated to it.\n\nOR\n\nmigrate to the VTEX store framework"}
