On the product details page, the webchat displays up to three ready-made questions about that product. When the customer clicks one of them, the chat opens and the question is sent as if they had typed it themselves, starting the conversation with a clear intent instead of an empty message box.\n\nIn this article, you'll understand what suggested questions are, where they appear, how they're generated, what influences their quality, and how to enable or disable them in VTEX CX Admin.\n\n## Where the questions appear\n\nSuggested questions work exclusively on product details pages (PDP). They aren't displayed on the homepage, category pages, search results, or checkout.\n\nOn the product details page, the questions appear in two states:\n\n- **Chat closed:** as compact buttons next to the chat launch button (launcher).\n- **Chat open:** within the conversation message list.\n\nIf the customer navigates to another product details page, the current questions are removed and a new set is generated for the new product.\n\n## How the questions are generated\n\nQuestions are automatically generated by artificial intelligence (AI), without manual store configuration. When the webchat loads on a product details page, it reads the product data already published on that page — name, description, brand, and technical specifications — and requests three relevant questions based on that content.\n\nThe result is stored, so the next customer who views the same product sees the questions immediately.\n\nWhen using the feature, consider the following behaviors:\n\n- **Questions are generated per product, not per variation.** All colors or sizes of the same product share the same three questions.\n- **Question quality depends directly on catalog quality.** Products with complete descriptions and well-populated specifications generate specific and useful questions. Products with little content or empty fields generate generic questions.\n- **Each store displays questions in a single language.** There's no automatic translation between locales.\n\n> ℹ️ Improving catalog content is the most effective way to improve suggested questions. Review product descriptions and specifications to get more relevant questions.\n\n## Activation\n\nSuggested questions are enabled by default. Accounts configured through [VTEX CX onboarding](https://help.vtex.com/en/docs/tutorials/cx-introduction) already have Shopping Assistant and suggested questions configured, so no action is necessary to start using the feature.\n\n## Enable or disable suggested questions\n\nIf you prefer not to display questions on the store, you can deactivate them in VTEX CX Admin. Deactivating suggested questions doesn't affect Shopping Assistant: the webchat remains available on the store and customers can still start a conversation through the launcher.\n\nTo enable or disable suggested questions, follow the steps below:\n\n1. Go to VTEX CX Admin.\n2. In the sidebar menu, go to **Channels > Shopping Assistant > Settings**.\n3. Enable or disable the **Suggested Questions** option.\n4. Click `Save`."}
