It is important that you evaluate which Master Data version meets the needs of your operation or is already in use. <ul> <li> [ Master Data version characteristics ](/en/docs/tutorials/master-data#versions-available) </li> <li> [ Master Data v2 ](https://developers.vtex.com/docs/guides/master-data-v2-basics) </li> </ul>\n\nThe following steps will allow you to select a field and make it mandatory:\n\n1. In the VTEX Admin, access **Store Settings** > **Storefront** > **Master Data**.\n2. Make sure that you are in the __Applications__ tab.\n3. Click the gear icon <i class=\"fas fa-cog\"></i> in __Profile System__.\n4. Click on the pencil icon <i class=\"fas fa-edit\"></i> next to the form you wish to configure.\n5. Click on __Layout Schemas__.\n6. Within one of the form sections, find the field you wish to configure and click <i class=\"fas fa-edit\"></i> next to it to open the __Advanced Field Settings__.\n7. In __Advanced Field Settings__, select __Required form field__.\n8. Click `OK`.\n9. Click `Save`.\n\nFrom now on, the selected options will be mandatory in the form. The settings above can be changed if necessary."}
