In recent years, card testing attacks have become more frequent in ecommerce, generating a high volume of failed payment attempts and additional costs for stores.\n\nTo strengthen protection against this type of threat, we've launched **Fraud Prevention**, a new [VTEX Shield](https://help.vtex.com/en/docs/tutorials/vtex-shield) feature available for all accounts. The solution adds an intelligent risk analysis layer to payment attempts, allowing you to identify and mitigate card testing attacks on payments.\n\n## What has changed?\n\nThe new feature analyzes payment attempts at checkout and returns a **fraud score (0 to 1)**. Based on this score, the system recommends preventive actions and automatically blocks attempts considered suspicious.\n\nThe new page is available in the Admin at: **Store Settings > Shield > Fraud Prevention**.\n\n![Fraud Prevention page in VTEX Admin](https://cdn.statically.io/gh/vtexdocs/help-center-content/refs/heads/main/docs/en/tutorials/security/vtex-shield/fraud-prevention.png)\n\n## Why did we make this change?\n\nCard testing attacks can generate a high volume of failed payment attempts in a short time, impacting store operations, increasing costs with acquirers and anti-fraud tools, and raising the risk of penalties.\n\nWith **Fraud Prevention**, VTEX Shield adds a protection layer specific to this scenario, making it easier to monitor and quickly respond to suspicious behavior during the purchase flow.\n\n## What needs to be done?\n\nFraud Prevention is available for all accounts, regardless of whether they have the other VTEX Shield features. To access the page, the user needs a [role](https://help.vtex.com/en/docs/tutorials/roles) with the [License Manager resource](https://help.vtex.com/en/docs/tutorials/license-manager-resources) *View transaction attempts*, from the *Transaction Attempts* category of the *Fraud Prevention* product.
