To help merchants prepare, VTEX already supports the new format across all stores through native validation of the **document/company registration number** fields in Master Data v1.\n\n## What has changed?\n\nPreviously, the **document/company registration number** fields in Master Data v1 only supported numeric values. The validation logic now supports alphanumeric company registration numbers, allowing merchants to update their integrations and forms before the official transition.\n\n> ℹ️ Master Data v2 fields didn't have this restriction, so no adaptation was necessary.\n\n## What needs to be done?\n\nNo action is required to support the new alphanumeric format, as the update is already available for VTEX stores in all regions.\n\nHowever, we recommend that merchants test their other systems and billing workflows to ensure that back-office integrations are ready for the transition, which will take place in July 2026.\n\n> ℹ️ For more information, see the article [Data Entity](/en/docs/tutorials/data-entity)."}
